Are you an experienced professional in project management looking for a senior role that makes a real difference? The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Capital Works Manager to lead and manage our team of building surveyors and professional services consultants. This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee a wide range of capital and asset projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As the Capital Works Manager, you will be responsible for the setup, management, and delivery of LBHF’s asset projects and capital repairs. You will coordinate various contractors, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and other statutory requirements. Your role will involve engaging with stakeholders, consultancy organizations, contractors, and the community, providing leadership and strategic direction to achieve the council's objectives. You will also be responsible for budget preparation, cost monitoring, procurement, and ensuring effective communication and support to tenants and council staff.
We are looking for a qualified professional with extensive experience in managing capital works projects. You should have a successful track record in delivering projects from inception to completion, including planning, monitoring, and implementation. Strong financial management skills, stakeholder and partnership management experience, and the ability to lead and motivate a team are essential. Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation, including CDM and HHSRS, is also required.
