Job Title: Firearms Licensing Suitability Review Assistant- HC620528
Location: Mottisfont Court Winchester
Salary: Scale 4, £26.106 - £28.653 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Closing Date: Sunday 20th April 2025 at 23:59 hours
About the Role
To provide a range of functional support in matters relating to the Firearms
Licensing Department, specifically in the process of reviewing a person’s
suitability to possess firearms and retain a certificate under the Firearms
Act or Explosives Regulation.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to :
1. To interrogate RMS, National Firearms Licensing Management System
(NFLMS), PNC and other sources of material in order to identify certificate
holders who have come to police notice which could result in the potential
revocation of their firearm, shotgun or explosives certificates
2. To identify and deal with any threat, risk or harm around information
and intelligence for crime in action and critical incidents, ensuring full and
continuous engagement with the appropriate Office In Case (OIC)
3. To identify and deal with any threat, risk or harm around intelligence for
crime in action and critical incidents, ensuring full and continuous
engagement with the Senior Investigating Officer.
4. To create and maintain all relevant records in relation to ‘review’ entries
in accordance with the RMS convention, ensuring that the database is
effectively maintained in respect of content, accuracy and quality of data
5. To plan and prioritise your work within the department, as well as
undertake project work, as directed by the Suitability Review Coordinator

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 2 (3 to 5 GCSE to include Maths and
English)
OR work experience deemed to have brought the
postholder to a comparable level.
Essential Experience
Assessment and management of risk, communication
and advisory skills, experience in a busy and sometimes
pressurised environment, working to a deadline
