NaVCIS

The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) is a national police unit hosted by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and based at Ryton-on-Dunsmore near Coventry.

A centralised, specialist intelligence unit, NaVCIS’s mission is to protect the UK from the harm of vehicle finance crime and associated serious and organised crime.

We’re at the forefront of the UK’s police response to the issue and use our expertise, experience and policing powers to develop and enhance intelligence that all forces can use to pursue offenders and prevent crime.

We work closely with our partners in industry to influence crime prevention measures and help educate and inform police forces.

Our work is split across six areas:

  • investigations into vehicle finance theft and fraud
  • freight
  • agriculture & plant
  • leisure
  • intelligence (including field intelligence officers at Southampton, Tilbury and Felixstowe ports)
  • analysis

The team is made up of police officers drawn on secondment from a variety of forces across the country, as well as police staff who are employed directly by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and who are based primarily at our offices located on the College of Policing campus.

Role opportunities for police staff include; fraud and theft investigators, intelligence development officers, intelligence researchers and intelligence analysts as well as leadership roles such as an assessment supervisor and investigations manager (deputy head of unit).

Whatever your background or aspirations, NaVCIS offers:
