Location: Basingstoke/Southampton/Portsmouth (Office based)

 

Salary: Scale 4, £26,106 - £28,653 per annum

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

Contract: Permanent

 

Closing Date: Monday 5th May 2025 at 23.59 hours

Are you someone who is enjoys highly detailed work, have the ability to work on your own initiative, are willing to take ownership of your work and are resilient?

 

If so then you could be the person we are looking for to join our small team who transcribe suspect interviews, victims first accounts and 999 calls. Although you are part of a team much of the work is carried out on your own as you will be watching and listening to recordings, which can contain highly sensitive material, in order to pick out the relevant information needed to support cases that Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Constabulary are taking to Crown Court.

 

Although your primary task is transcribing you will also be booking in and logging the recordings as well as liaising with police officers and the imaging department to ensure that they are received in the appropriate format and the images are clear.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

 - Experience of working in a busy administrative environment, undertaking complex administrative tasks to a high standard.

 - Experience of managing sensitive information and/or scenarios which require resilience in order to resolve.

 - Experience of dealing with both confidential and sensitive information
