Salary: Scale 4, £24,921 - £27,351 per annum

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are looking for 2 people to join our team where they will act as a gate keepers for non-custody cases by preparing case files and supporting their progression through the Criminal Justice System, and will be the link between our serving police officers and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
 

This role has many functions and your work will be varied. On any day your duties may include:
 

  • Obtaining, checking and submitting case files to the CPS for pre-charge advice. Then, receiving responses and charging decisions from the CPS, and disseminating to the officer in the case (OIC). You will also be checking any supporting or additional evidence in the same way when required.
     
  • Preparing, quality assuring and submitting accurate prosecution files, which help to ensure successful prosecution rates. Ensuring that key evidence accompanies prosecution files before submission to the CPS by agreed timeframes.
     
  • Identifying and prioritising specific cases, including domestic violence, under 10 protocol and sexual offences, ensuring that the CPS are formally notified.
     
  • Submitting foreign previous convictions checks to the International Liaison Enquiries Team for victims and witnesses who were born outside of the UK.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes) OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Proven experience working in a busy administrative environment, undertaking complex administrative tasks to a high standard.
