Salary: Scale PO1, £39036,00 - £41928,00 - plus £4000 market supplement

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

Contract: Permanent

Are you looking for a new, interesting challenge?

 

The successful candidate will collaborate to implement, manage and maintain quality processes and systems in all areas of service delivery and seek, attain and retain accreditation to relevant industry quality standards (including ISO 17025, ISO 17020 and the FSR CoP), will undertake and oversee the validation and verification of technical equipment and processes and develop and maintain standard operating procedures to comply with relevant industry quality standards, will work closely with the Q&T team to provide current and robust technical and quality advice to support staff in quality related matters.

 

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

1. Proactively manage the technical aspects of service delivery in their area and in conjunction with the quality dept to ensure that high quality technical processes are in place.

2. Work with key stakeholders including ICT and corporate services e.g. H&S to ensure that corporate policies and procedures comply with all legislative requirements (quality and non-quality).

3. Manage and maintain quality technical processes and systems in all areas of service delivery and seek, attain and retain accreditation to relevant industry quality standards.

4. Develop relationships and work closely with key stakeholders within the criminal justice system (including but not limited to UKAS, FCN, TF, and University partners) to ensure that Scientific Services achieves accreditation within the timeframes

outlined by the Forensic Science Regulator and remains at the forefront of forensic innovation.

5. Plan and facilitate validation and verification of technical equipment, personnel and processes, taking in to consideration relevant quality standards and Health and Safety requirements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and other quality processes e.g. asset management to ensure a robust output is obtained in cases.

Essential Qualifications

 

 

Educated to QCF Level 6 or to have undertaken work experience deemed to have brought the post-holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

 

 

1. The role holder must be technically competent in the area that they act as a technical manager of and be aware of the key methods.

 

2. Experience in a position of authority within the technical environment where they have had influence and implemented changes to processes.

 

3. Has a working knowledge and experience of relevant International and Industry standards including the Forensic Regulators Codes of Practice and Conduct.

 

4. ISO 17025 and/or ISO 17020
