Salary: Scale 5, £29,109.00 - £31,296.00 per annum

 

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

 

Contract: Permanent

The shortlisted candidates will be required to pass an aptitude test prior their interviews.

 

Aptitude tests to be held Saturday 11th January and Sunday 12th January.

 

Interviews to be held Friday 17th January and Monday 20th January.

Job Purpose

 

 

The successful candidate will process fingerprint form records, confirming identities of individuals arrested throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, whilst maintaining the quality and integrity of the National Fingerprint Database. To providing a comprehensive range support services to the Scientific Services Department.

 

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

1) Confirm identities of individuals throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight

a. Place fingerprint forms on the National Fingerprint Database

b. Assist in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the Hampshire Constabulary’s National Fingerprint Database c. Process and accurately compare fingerprints on various computerised systems in order to confirm or establish a person’s identity.

d. Assess and evaluate the quality of fingerprints and amend or reject as required in order to maintain the best quality database for comparison purposes.

e. Maintain a working knowledge of current, relevant legislation in respect of fingerprints.

f. Obtain quality Biometrics from police officers and other relevant support staff and maintain related databases. g. Undertake other administrative tasks as the job requires.

2) To provide ongoing administrative support / resilience to the following areas / roles within the Scientific Services Department (SSD) as required & deemed by line manager to be appropriate and commensurate to the grade.

3) To supply cover for key tasks as required by undertaking a range of administrative tasks.

Essential Qualifications

 

 

Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes including Maths and English) or to have significant work experience deemed to have brought the post-holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

 

 

Proven experience in a busy office environment, routinely undertaking a diverse range of support / administrative duties.

Use and familiarity with computerised packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Ability to work with minimal day to day supervision and able to prioritise competing demands.
