Salary: SO1, £33,915.00 - £35,982.00 per annum 

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

Contract: Permanent

Job Purpose

 

The successful candidate will support the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining ISO quality Standards. To ensure compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s requirements across Hampshire Constabulary and partner agencies, delivering an integrated quality and training management framework for the provision of all forensic services.

 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

1. To deputise for the SSD Quality Manager as quality lead for Forensic Investigations, making decisions regarding the quality management systems, representing the organisation at regional and national forums regarding quality.

 

2. Train and develop, both internally and externally, those involved in the production, control, updating and distribution of QMS policies, procedures and forms, in support of overall business goals, including internal auditors.

 

3. Maintain relationships and work closely with UKAS, laboratory managers, staff and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and effective assessment of the laboratories, minimising the risk of loss of accreditation.

 

4. Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements.

 

5. Evaluate identified risk, complaint and Non-Conformance investigation outcomes to ensure that the actions taken have been robust and effectively address the true root cause.

 

6. Facilitate the control of suppliers used by Hampshire Scientific Services are selected, evaluated, and re-evaluated and that records of assessment are maintained.

 

7. Coordinate, maintain and deliver effective auditing programmes.

 

8. Analyse data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurements from other relevant sources.

Essential Qualifications

 

Educated to QCF Level 3 in a relevant technical subject or have relevant vocational experience that would bring the post holder to the required standard.

 

QCF Level 3 in Learning & Development or similar for teaching adults e.g. Train the trainer qualification. 

Essential Experience

 

Demonstrate experience of successfully coordinating an accredited ISO quality management system at 17025/17020 levels as a minimum in a professional environment.

 

Experience of conducting internal and external audits.

 

An understanding of root cause analysis and implementing effective corrections and corrective actions.
