An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2 year fixed term role as the Information Manager to the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS).

More about the role

The successful candidate to the Information Manager (NaVCIS) will work to the ACRO Senior Manager for Information Management, with regular contact with the NaVCIS management team. The role holder will be the subject matter expert for areas relating information management for NaVCIS, and will be responsible for ensuring that NaVCIS is compliant with legislation and national standards for information management. The Information Manager (NaVCIS) will be based out of the ACRO offices near Fareham, Hampshire, but there will be an expectation that the successful candidate will travel to the NaVCIS office at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire two concurrent days a week (with an overnight stay) for the first month in post, followed by at least 1-2 days a month (with an overnight stay where necessary) for the remainder of the secondment. Overnight accommodation will be supplied and paid for by NaVCIS.

The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) is a national police unit, hosted by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary but based near Coventry. We work closely with partner agencies across law enforcement and the private sector in order to better understand and mitigate the threats posed to the public and communities by vehicle theft. 

 

Motor finance fraud and associated offences impacts upon victims and communities, the national economy and demands placed upon law enforcement agencies. Through effective partnership working, NaVCIS seeks to prevent offences of motor finance fraud by utilising our subject matter experts to investigate, develop and share specialist intelligence to support law enforcement investigations to prevent crime and disrupt organised criminality.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to QCF Level 6 OR relevant professional work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

  • Professional knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR 2018, Human Rights Acts 1998, and privacy legislation.
  • Possess highly effective interpersonal, analytical skills and communication skills, both verbal and written, and has the ability to influence senior management.
  • To demonstrate ability to present reports recommending improvements in processes and data recording to comply with national and local requirements to senior staff reducing the business risk.
  • Experience of training delivery and presentations.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team
