Applications are invited from officers who feel they are ready for the challenge of promotion to the role of Superintendent, and those who are already at Superintendent rank and wish to join our force.
There is an expectation that all HIOWC Superintendents support the force through accreditation of professional practice across a broad spectrum of discipline(s).
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following experience, drive and personal qualities:
- A passion for delivering exceptional local policing, improving outcomes and cutting crime.
- An excellent track record of successfully delivering policing performance and leading people.
- The highest standards of professionalism, integrity and personal commitment as a role model of positive ethical behaviours.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication and leadership skills.
- Effective delivery against force priorities and the Police and Crime Plan.
- An ability to motivate and engage with the workforce, creating an environment where everyone can be at their best.
