A position has become available in The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, for a placements officer within the brokerage team. You will be part of an exciting new team that has been created to manage the micro-commissioning of placements on behalf of residents who have specific social care needs. 

The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of defined client groups, a comprehensive understanding of the care market and have strong negotiation skills to ensure that the most appropriate services are commissioned and that value for money is achieved. You will also have experience of working in a customer care environment and social work setting to support residents to exercise control and choice over the services they receive.

The successful candidates will be responsive, innovative, collaborative, and enterprising with a “can-do” attitude and have great problem-solving skills. You will also be well organised, able to prioritise work and be great at building relationships with a wide range of stake holders.

Role Responsibilities:
  • To support the Brokerage Manager through administrative support and organisation ensuring that work flow is in order and cases are uploaded and closed effectively on Mosaic.  
  • To communicate appropriately and effectively on the telephone or by email with a wide range of internal and partnership service teams, departments, and external care providers.
  • To ensure accurate and prompt data updating/ processing across appropriate H&F internal and provider systems.
  • To assist in establishing and maintaining high quality administrative systems and exploiting the use of IT.
  • To accurately process a range of invoices as delegated with due regard to the Councils Financial regulations and payment policies.
  • To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post.
  • To process referrals promptly and within agreed timeframes.
  • To ensure value for money is obtained within contractual arrangements when supporting the facilitation of nursing and residential care packages.
  • To accurately record, broker and update associated systems promptly and in line with departmental procedure.
  • To carry out a range of invoice approval procedures including, invoice validation, invoice certification and approval for payment.
  • Undertake relevant administrative duties relating to the work of the Adults Resource Team
  • Liaison with duty managers, other staff, and agencies to resolve service issues and collation of evaluation feedback.
  • Scanning and indexing of documentation as appropriate.
  • To provide cover during periods of absence and annual leave within the team.
