Salary: Scale 5 - Starting Salary: £27,789.00 per annum
 

Hours: Full time, 37.00hours per week
 

Contract: Temporary for 9 months


Closing Date: Wednesday 1st May 2024 at 23:59hours

Our People and Development Support team are currently recruiting for an Assistant HR Advisor to join their team on a temporary basis, in order to support the Constabulary’s people function, by delivering specific customer focused HR administrative services.  


The responsibilities for this role are varied and on any one day, your duties may include the below:

 

  1. Provide timely, high quality, straightforward and factual information, and advice, to our internal and external customers in a variety of forms, e.g. email, telephone, face to face, correspondence.
     
  2. Provide a range of services of research, information gathering and organisation, ensuring HR process guidance and the HR intranet pages are maintained and kept up to date. 
     
  3. Record, collate and analyse information and produces summary reports.
     
  4. Administer a range of HR activity e.g. Long service awards, PDR, pay reviews and promotions. 
     
  5. Actively seek to improve processes and methods within the department.
     
  6. Undertake research and analysis to identify options and recommendations.
     
  7. Seek from internal and external sources relevant benchmark information and reports relevant to the departments objectives.
     
  8. Provide administrative support for the HR/people service including the production of contractual paperwork & development programmes.
     
  9. Provide ad hoc project support when needed

Essential Qualifications

 

  • Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

 

Desirable: CIPD Diploma Level 5 in HR Practice or higher CIPD qualification.

Essential Experience

 

  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in a customer focused HR environment, providing information and general advice.
     
  • Excellent administration skills including experience of using an IT systems/software to compile and analyse information.
     
  • Good communication skills (both written & oral) with people at different levels of the organisation.
