About Us:

THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF JESS’S CARE AND UNDERSTANDING

The Register Office in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where people mark the truly significant events of their lives. We oversee the legal formalities of births and deaths and, of course, carry out hundreds of wedding ceremonies.

Westminster boasts some of the world’s most sought-after wedding locations. With big occasions at venues such as Claridge’s and The Savoy, our registrars are in constant demand. But we also take great pleasure in hosting much simpler ceremonies at our iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall.  And Jess, an experienced registrar, draws on her background as a dance tutor, sales professional, mother and language teacher to bring just the right level of authority and empathy to each encounter.

So when a bride mislaid her bouquet, Jess stepped up to save the day. She agreed with one of the ushers that they should create a beautiful arrangement from flowers displayed in the Town Hall. Meanwhile, Jess calmed the distraught bride and ensured everything stayed on schedule.

It’s just one of the many ways Jess and her team think on their feet and work together to make sure everyone’s special day runs smoothly.

The Role:

As a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator, you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success. Working within Registration Services, you will help strengthen the national reputation of Westminster Registration Services – and The Old Marylebone Town Hall in particular – ensuring our brand stands out as one of the most iconic ceremony destinations in the country.

You will lead on delivering the social media strategy for Registration and Ceremony Services, taking ownership of content creation, research and day-to-day engagement across platforms. From defining KPIs to analysing social media and web performance, you will use data-driven insight to optimise ROI and continually refine how we connect with couples.

You will bring fresh thinking to reinvigorate the tone and aesthetic of our brand identity across multimedia channels, setting and maintaining clear brand standards across all services. Alongside this, you will support the development of our Event and Commercial packages – helping shape pricing strategies, negotiate terms and maximise revenue from venue hire and ceremony offerings.

A key part of your role will involve building and securing strategic partnerships with influencers, ceremony planners, suppliers and media organisations, working within agreed frameworks and delegated authority to strengthen reputation, enhance revenue and improve service delivery standards. You will also support the Business Development Manager in redeveloping A Day To Remember Magazine – refining its strategy, building relationships with advertisers, generating original editorial content and helping coordinate its production from concept to publication.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll bring strong experience of working in a busy, customer-focused environment, where first-class service and positive engagement really matter. Comfortable in a front-line role, you know how to build meaningful relationships with customers, partners and suppliers, and you communicate with confidence and warmth. Experience within a heritage, ceremony or weddings setting would be beneficial, but most important is your ability to understand what customers want and translate that into a high-quality experience.

You’ll have a proven background in social media and digital marketing, with the confidence to lead on strategy, content creation and performance analysis. You’re comfortable interpreting social media and web analytics to maximise KPIs and ROI, and you bring the creative vision needed to maintain strong brand consistency across all channels. You’re curious and forward-thinking, always looking for new ideas, fresh approaches and opportunities to strengthen the service’s reputation.

You’ll be confident working in a commercial and partnership-focused environment. Whether negotiating agreements within delegated authority, working alongside external venues and stakeholders, or supporting event commercialisation, you know how to balance creativity with commercial awareness. Your analytical mindset helps you interpret data, challenge conventional thinking and advocate for the best outcomes in a collaborative way.

You bring excellent interpersonal skills, a natural ability to network and a genuine passion for celebrating diversity, reflecting the values set out in Our Westminster Way. Lastly, you’re motivated by creating memorable experiences, building strong partnerships and helping Westminster Registration Services continue to stand out on a national and international stage.
