The Role:

As an Investment Surveyor in our Housing Team, you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s communities by contributing to the expansion and enhancement of the city council's supply of affordable housing. Your role will be to identify and streamline investment opportunities.

Working on complex property transactions from end to end, you’ll have immense scope to strategically shape and grow our £multi-million investment portfolio. We’ll look to you to build and nurture relationships with agents, developers and vendors. You will then undertake meticulous due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including site evaluations, surveys and legal consultations. Looking at the wider picture, you will conduct financial analyses and produce comprehensive reports.  You will also keep up to date with the latest research and market trends to guide our investment strategy.  Along the way, you will gain valuable exposure to all aspects of transactions, enhancing your expertise and networks.  You’ll be part of a fast-paced and supportive team that’s committed to your ongoing development.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll bring diverse experience in property investment and management including complex deals for the acquisition and disposal of residential real estate. Your track-record of originating high-potential investments will be matched by meticulous technical due diligence expertise developed over years of scrutinising repairs, legal matters, surveys, sustainability, and planning factors. We also look for excellent communication and project management skills and confident stakeholder engagement. Well-developed financial acumen and good Excel modelling skills will also be vital to your success.

The Council is committed to achieving diverse shortlists to support our desire to increase the number of staff from underrepresented groups in our workforce. We especially encourage applications from a global majority background and, while the role is open to all applicants, we will utilise the positive action provisions of the Equality Act 2010 to appoint a candidate from a global majority background where there is a choice between two candidates of equal merit. If you are from a Global Majority background, you can self-declare this to the hiring manager as part of our positive action commitments.
