The Role:

As Director of Cross River Partnership (CRP), you can make your own powerful contribution to the success of central London. You’ll lead a unique public-private partnership, hosted by Westminster City Council, working with central London local authorities, Business Improvement Districts and strategic partners to deliver programmes that make a real difference.

You’ll set the vision for CRP’s future, shaping the annual Business Plan and Annual Report with partners and funders, and making sure the partnership continues to respond to what London needs now and next. This is a role with plenty of independence, scope and influence – giving you the chance to bring ideas to life and help CRP keep improving.

You’ll lead the CRP Board, working closely with public and private sector Co-Chairs, setting agendas, briefing members and making sure meetings lead to clear decisions. You’ll also support the Board’s working groups and oversee the relationship with CRP’s charitable arm, Fairer, Safer, Greener.

Funding and resources will be central to your role. You’ll identify and secure the finances needed to keep CRP delivering useful programmes, manage budgets tightly and make sure every decision offers value for money for partners and the council.

You’ll also take leadership responsibility for CRP’s staff, associate consultants and sub-contractors, creating a culture where people feel supported, accountable and clear on the impact of their work. That includes bringing an inclusive leadership style that allows you to maintain strong standards, performance and continuous improvement.

Most of all, this is a role rooted in partnership. You’ll build relationships across the council, CRP partners, government, BIDs, landowners, businesses and wider London networks – influencing big decisions and championing collaborative delivery.

Leading business development, fundraising and communications, you’ll help CRP secure new opportunities, raise its profile and deliver programmes that add value to what partners are already doing. You’ll also make sure CRP operates properly and transparently, meeting council, procurement, contract, audit and external funder requirements.

Throughout, you’ll embed equity, diversity and inclusion into CRP’s work and culture. It’s a role for someone who enjoys seeing the bigger picture, building trust and getting things done – all while delivering real economic and social impact.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll bring strong experience of leading partnership working with senior stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors. That could include Local Government, Central Government, Business Improvement Districts, TfL, Network Rail, the GLA, landowners, businesses, european partners and other service providers.

You’ll also have a track record of delivering major cross-cutting programmes across areas such as the environment, economy, society and transport. Complex projects are your sweet spot – you’ll be used to shaping, funding, negotiating, delivering and completing programmes that involve different partners, priorities and moving parts.

You’ll also bring experience across programme, project, financial, staff and development management. Just as importantly, you’ll understand the commercial realities of running a partnership-based organisation with no guaranteed income streams, and know how to build sustainable opportunities from that.

What will set you apart is the way you work. Innovative, creative and collaborative, you’ll have the resilience to keep going when things are complex. You’ll communicate clearly, solve problems thoughtfully and use evidence, analysis and sound judgement to make decisions that move the partnership forward.
