This role sits within the Environment and Place directorate and supports the delivery of a half a billion-pound plus capital infrastructure programme over the coming years.

About the role

 

You'll provide invaluable support to Project Managers, helping to oversee the delivery of major transport projects from design to construction - ensuring each one delivers against challenging value-for-money, quality and time targets.

 

In this visible role, you'll get the opportunity to develop and lead projects of your own - covering programme and budget management, management of design consultants, design approvals, procurement, stakeholder communication, corporate governance and
funding release.

 

About you

 

As an ambitious professional, you'll be supporting specific aspects of multiple schemes and projects, managing cross-team project monitoring, planning and control tools. We'll also look to you to build and maintain relationships with key strategic partners, senior council directors, politicians and operational teams.

 

We're looking for somebody that is eager to learn and bring their existing skills to project management, has strong interpersonal skills and can operate well as a team. If you have a qualification in the relevant discipline, or have experience in the relevant specialist field of works, that would be an advantage.
