The Role:

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have an exciting opportunity available within the People and Organisational Development Directorate for a HR Adviser. 

 

Working as part of the newly created internal HR Team, you will report to the Senior HR Adviser. Your responsibilities will include providing high quality, risk assessed advice on a range of HR issues - including employee relations, HR change, policy, recruitment and pay. You will support in the development of new policies and procedures to meet the needs of the Service. In addition, you will assist senior colleagues in the delivery of HR training to managers and be involved in processes such as job evaluation.

 

You will possess CIPD Level 5 or relevant HR experience and will have excellent communication skills at all levels. You will have a sound knowledge of employment law and practice, alongside the ability to develop productive relationships with staff at all levels.  

 

This role is based at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service HQ in Eastleigh, but there will be a requirement to visit HIWFRS stations within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and therefore you will need to have the ability to travel, as necessary. All HR roles are required to provide some out of hours support and could require some attendance at evening meetings, covered by flexitime.
