About Us:

Deliver a new approach to education and training, and help to mitigate trauma and loss in the community.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of everything we do. As part of the council’s commitment to those who have been most impacted by the Grenfell Tower tragedy, we are establishing a brand-new Education and Training Service, which will be based within 500m of the Tower. The Service will be designed to provide essential support to survivors, the bereaved and residents of the local community. Offering tailored educational and pastoral care, our team of education, employment and health specialists will help children, young people and adults recover from trauma and achieve their educational and career goals. Advocating for people facing challenges, we will make sure their voices are heard, help them access a range of partner services, and evolve the service over time – always guided by the needs of the community.

The Role:

As Deputy Head of the Grenfell Education Hub you will lead our vital new Education and Training Service. Bringing together professionals and the community, you will champion personalised support and advocacy for all those impacted by the Grenfell tragedy. Overseeing a dedicated team of education professionals working within schools, community settings and other educational environments, you will be instrumental in building and shaping the Service – and your own role.

Working closely with families, schools and the wider community, your team will enhance learning, training and employment opportunities. We will look to you to drive the strategic direction of the Service, ensuring excellence and compassion in delivery, with a significant focus on trauma-informed care. You will personally manage complex cases, and supervise your team to embed best practices. Along the way, you will forge partnerships across the Council, Children’s Services, education providers and other local organisations. Ultimately, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by the tragedy, ensuring they have access to the education and support they need to thrive and move forward.

We are aiming for a January/February 2025 start date, so please take this into consideration when submitting your application.
