Salary range: £31,895 - £34,373 per annum

Work location: The Oaks, Eynsham and Glebesland Assessment Home, Thame

Hours per week: 74 Hours across two weeks including sleep ins, late shifts and weekend work on a rota.  We are open to discussions about flexible working.

Contract type: Permanent

Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a criminal records check. This post is subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 and successful candidates will be required to complete a Disqualification Form.

About us

 

The Oaks Assessment Home settles for nothing but the best possible standards of care and service provision for the children and families we work with. Our focus is:

 

  1. To work with and support more vulnerable looked after children and young people and families who are:
  • At risk of being placed either in long term residential care, or in IFA placements
  • At risk of remaining in such placements
  • At risk of entering the looked after system

 

  1. To offer planned and structured therapeutic interventions in line with care planning to these children and young people, focussing on, but not exclusively, on:
  • Retaining their position within the family home
  • Their return to/successful settling into a family setting (home OCC foster care or kinship care) or
  • Their move to independent living

 

  1. To provide the highest possible standards of care for the young people in their families and/or in the centres in accordance with the above and with Directorate/Service objectives, policies and procedures.

 

  1. To ensure a service that supports the needs of young people and their families in a planned and considered way, including advocating for them, and to further their well-being, in particular their
  • Health
  • Education and/or preparation for independence
  • Identity, religion, and culture, including positive self-image
  • Family and social relationships
  • Social representation
  • Emotional and behavioural development
  • Self-care skills
