  • 4 or 3 consecutive week programme (dependant on programme see dates below).
  • Online training modules to be completed by Friday 31st May 2019.
  • 2 days face to face training on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2019.
  • Graduation event taking place on Saturday 7th September 2019.



Various locations in and around Central, South and West Oxfordshire.



£950 + Programme Completion Payment (£300) [gross].

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Oxfordshire National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, which has been successfully running in Oxfordshire since 2012 operated by Oxfordshire County Council. The NCS programme is now the largest youth and community programme in the UK.

This is a fun, creative and youth interactive role that requires successful candidates to be energetic, enthusiastic and able to engage well with young people aged 15 - 17 years old. This role requires staff to work flexibly across the county.

The NCS programme is housed by Oxfordshire County Council. 


Programme details

We are operating 5 different programmes for summer 2019:

  • Programme 1: 1st July to 26th July 2019.
  • Programme 2: 15th July to 9th August 2019.
  • Programme 3: 22nd July to 16th August 2019.
  • Programme 4: 29th July to 23rd August 2019.
  • Programme 5: 5th August to 23rd August [3-week programme].


Week 1: Away from county residential Monday to Friday.

Week 2: Home residential Monday to Friday in Oxfordshire.

Weeks 3 & 4: 30 hours each week of social action Monday to Friday.

Programme Completion Payment

This will be paid upon successful completion of the programme, following attendance of the graduation event (taking place 7th September 2019). Successful completion is defined as: completing all the relevant training, registers completed and returned to the office, participants completing their minimum social action hours, any issued property/equipment being returned to the office and you have worked a full programme. The Programme Completion Payment is a fixed amount of £300 per staff per programme.

Vetting Requirements

This post is subject to a criminal records check. You will be required to bring along the relevant valid identification to your interview so we can perform a DBS check.



All applicants must provide 2 professional references. The first references must be your current or last employer. Your second reference must then be your next recent previous employer. If you are currently a student please put down your course tutor. Ensure the references you put on your application know they are being asked to give a reference for you, that they are contactable with their correct details.
