The Role:


Highways (Traffic & Safety) is looking for a highly motivated Team Leader to join our recently expanded Traffic Team
 

As one of four Traffic Team Leaders you will oversee a number of technical staff developing, designing and implementing a of a broad range of traffic and parking schemes. Working closely with County Members, Parish Councils and a range of partner organisations you be responsible for scheme prioritisation, development and delivery, preparing and presenting reports and technical papers as well as responding to high volumes of enquiries and correspondence.  You will provide expert advice, both internally and externally, so will need excellent communication skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships at all levels. 
 

You’ll have extensive project management experience, particularly related to traffic, highways, casualty reduction and parking schemes, a knowledge of Health and Safety (including CDM Regulations and legislation related to working on the highway), a good understanding of legal Traffic Orders, along with the associated legislation and regulations. You will have staff supervision or management experience, be able to demonstrate good financial management alongside an understanding of the political context in which we work, both nationally and locally.

 

This role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Council’s Open Workplace Policy, the successful candidate can undertake the majority of their work at home, subject to business requirements. You are welcome and able to come into our Winchester-based offices either flexibly, or on a more frequent basis if you’d prefer.
