Senior Construction Inspector (Clerk of Works)

Salary Range: £39,382 - £43,679 per annum 
Work Location: Patch Worker – non-specific location-based role travelling between projects across Hampshire (Property Services based in Winchester – occasional visits for meetings etc).
Hours per week: 37 (Flexible and part time working for this role will be considered. Please state your preferences on your application).

The Role:

Property Services is Hampshire County Council's in-house team of multi-disciplinary construction professionals and specialist support staff delivering a range of property functions from new build, refurbishments, and extensions through to maintenance and compliance activities. It encompasses the council's estate and those of our partner organisations and includes schools, offices, and other various public buildings. 


You will form part of our Technical Services team who are responsible for quality assurance, site inspection, technical advice, fire safety, risk & compliance including those required by the building safety act/building regulations, accessibility, construction health & safety and after care services. 


The main focus of the role will to be assist with the delivery of quality assurance including compliance checks as required by the building safety act (Clients duties) and health and safety monitoring on construction projects (Clients duties under the CDM regulations), providing the necessary assurance and evidencing through a structured approach of checking, monitoring, auditing, record keeping and reporting. 


Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and contractors you will maintain both Property Services’ and the Clients interests using processes that are robust, evidenced, and appropriate for the risk.
