Can you rise to the challenge that every day is different?
The Inclusion Support Service are looking for a positive, enthusiastic person who is able to work in an organised and flexible way to deliver a wide range of tasks. You will join a hardworking and committed team responsible for the recording of the exclusion and reduced hours provision processes, and for promoting the inclusion of vulnerable children and young people in schools.
You will need a high level of administrative skills, including an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft programmes and experience of working with databases and spreadsheets. You will provide advice and support to schools, governors, parents and other Local Authority officers on the exclusion process, based on national statutory and local guidance and good practice. You will have the ability to analyse and provide accurate statistical data for use by a wide range of audiences and monitor and work to statutory timescales.
The role demands someone with effective communication skills, who can deal with sometimes distressing and challenging phone calls with a calm and empathetic manner. An understanding of children and young people who present challenging behaviour and the education system would be an advantage but is not essential.
The position requires the ability to work under pressure, accurately and methodically, and the ability to use your own initiative whilst being a strong member of the Inclusion Support Services team.
The post holder would report to the Senior Inclusions Assistant and be line managed by the designated Inclusion Officer.
