We are looking for an excellent administrator with experience in delivering support in an office environment to join our friendly and supportive Governance Team. Our service provides a nationally recognised service for governance boards in schools and academies in and beyond Hampshire.

In this role you may carry out a wide range of functions, including advising and supporting governing bodies, administering the governor training programme, and administering the clerking service.

You will be confident in using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. You will have an interest in education and an ability to understand and apply legal frameworks, to support school governors.

The Role:

Our Governance Administration Team provide high quality administrative support to Governors and schools, supporting governing bodies with training administration, support and guidance.

We source and provide administrative support for the local authority clerking service.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the first point of contact for school governors, effectively dealing with enquiries by providing informed advice.
  • Draft routine and complex communications.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the training programme, liaising with tutors, booking venues and production of event materials.
  • Provide support for an allocated number of governance bodies.
  • Process payment request.
  • Maintain accurate budget monitoring, tracking expenditure and provide accurate and relevant updates.
  • Provide administration for the local authority clerking service.
  • Monitor systems, procedures and standards, identifying improvements.
  • Handle sensitive information in line with regulations and GDPR


What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of administrative functions in an office environment.
  • Someone with computer literacy skills and an experience of data management.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing.
  • A person with proven customer care skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and be self motivated.
