The Role:

Hampshire Trading Standards is looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and customer-focused officer to join our Business Planning and Development team.

In this role you will play a key part in the efficient delivery of our trusted trader scheme, Buy With Confidence (BWC) and will support other chargeable services operated by Trading Standards. The BWC scheme supports fair, honest and legal businesses and provides them with a way to differentiate themselves in the market. The scheme provides consumers with the confidence that they are selecting a trader that has been vetted and approved by Trading Standards and provides consumer confidence that they are avoiding rogue traders.

Our BWC customers are consumers and businesses, so you’ll have experience of a role engaging with either the public and/or working in a commercial environment. You’ll be comfortable liaising with customers and other stakeholders, signposting to information and providing advice and guidance to resolve enquiries effectively and proportionately at first point of contact. You’ll also have a keen appreciation of our need to deliver a streamlined service, the importance of retaining our scheme members and the need to attract new members to develop the scheme further.
