The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Hampshire's Inclusion Support Service. Having an open mind about what children may be experiencing and how they are coping will be an important part of the role and will draw upon many skills.
You will work with children, young people, families and schools to identify and break down barriers to education. Where this has not been possible you will provide advice and guidance to schools on the legal process and administer the Attendance Legal Process on behalf of the Local Authority. You will chair Education Planning Meetings with schools and families in attendance. You will need to produce and process documentation for legal services and you may need to attend court if required. You will liaise with other agencies and partners, creating Attendance Contracts to improve outcomes for the child.
A confident communicator, you'll bring experience in supporting and engaging with children and families in a range of settings and you will need excellent written and communication skills. With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, you'll be able to adapt to constantly changing situations and priorities. You'll need a positive and flexible approach to teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative.
Please note the role may require you to travel to some locations which may be away from public transport routes.
