An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Application Support Consultant to join the Application Support team in IT at Hampshire County Council.

Joining the Application Support Team, you will be helping to support a wide range of complex business critical applications used across Hampshire County Council, with a focus on Social Care and Education.

The Role:

We have recently undertaken system migrations to two new cloud hosted Social Care applications. You will be working in a dynamic environment and co-ordinate system upgrades, ensuring our applications are compliant and secure. You will be responsible for planning your own and others’ workloads and prioritising tasks.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsibility for leading work streams.
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the application(s).
  • Configuring Applications to meet customer requirements and meet their business needs.  
  • Acting as 3rd Level support to resolve Incidents and complete Service Requests.
  • Rasiing support calls with 3rd Party Software supplier.

What we’re looking for:

  • A positive and enthusiastic individual with a flexible attitude and excellent interpersonal skill.
  • A background of working in IT, supporting and configuring business applications.
  • Experience of functional, system and acceptance testing.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders to develop and understand business requirements.
  • Problem solving skills to manage and resolve complex support incidents.
  • An understanding of Local Authority Social Care business processes is desirable.
  • A team player with strong collaborative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with a diverse range of people, including customers, suppliers and colleagues.

This role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Council’s Open Workplace Policy, the successful candidate can undertake their work between home and the office (a hybrid approach) depending upon operational requirements.

We are currently required to work in the office 1 day a week, this is currently on a Thursday for this team. Working in the office on other days may be required and this is subject to change.
