The Role:
As an Administration and Support Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of our supportive Reablement Services team. Your primary responsibility will be assisting one of our Sensory Services Officers and their Guide Dog, while also offering vital business support to our wider Reablement Service.
What you’ll do:
- Drive the Sensory Services Officer and their Guide Dog to and from work locations and appointments.
- Guide the Sensory Services Officer around offices, streets and in clients’ homes.
- Assist with the care and exercise of the Sensory Services Officer’s Guide Dog.
- Assist the Sensory Services Officer with reading all work related correspondence.
- Write reports and complete computer tasks to dictation on behalf of the Sensory Services Officer.
- Handle phone calls, monitor and respond to emails and schedule carer visits.
- Address and resolve queries, ensuring customer satisfaction by escalating complex issues when necessary
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to guide the Sensory Services Officer and drive them and their Guide Dog to and from work and appointments.
- Ability to provide care for their Guide Dog.
- Good IT skills with MO365 experience (including Word, Outlook and Excel).
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.

This is a hybrid role, with one day per week based at our Winchester office and four days working in the community. This includes time spent in Southampton, where you will provide assistance to the Sensory Service Officer working from their home.
Your core hours will be Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Our Service operates 7 days a week, therefore you'll be required to work a shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis for which enhancements are paid. This can be discussed further at interview as our Service may be undergoing a period of reorganisation in the coming months.

Travel Requirements
You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire [and the Isle of Wight or other local authority], and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
