If you are passionate about fostering, highly motivated, excellent communicator and want to be a part of an inspiring team, we want to hear from you!

The Role:

Join our fantastic Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team and help us find families to meet the needs of the children in our care. Together, we will inspire people to take the step to foster for Hampshire and help us achieve our aims to grow our community of foster carers to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children and respond to an increased demand for foster homes.

Hampshire County Council is recognised nationally as one of the highest performing local authorities in the UK. A modern, forward-looking local authority, it offers a pleasant, supportive, and collaborative working environment, flexible working opportunities, an excellent work/life balance, a strong emphasis on training and development, professional challenge, and variety.

In this role, you will work within the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team supporting the Fostering Recruitment Stream to recruit quality foster carers. You will be one of the first people that prospective foster carers speak to when contacting Hampshire County Council’s Fostering Service.

This is a unique role where you will undertake telephone calls and visits to prospective foster carers, supporting them through the first stage of their application. Another exciting aspect of the role is leading information and recruitment events to educate others about the fostering role, the needs of the children we care for.

You will be a confident communicator and have strong interpersonal skills. You will have ability to engage with diverse audiences, empowering, inspiring and engaging people in our vision for Fostering Hampshire Children, and the difference they can make to the children of Hampshire. You will also be highly organised, computer literate and have the ability to manage competing and time-critical deadlines. Direct experience of Fostering, customer services or recruitment are also highly desirable skills.

You will have the opportunity to gain extensive experience from this role, gaining skills and experience of transformational work, marketing and fostering, and make a significant difference to the lives of people who become foster carers and, most importantly, to the children that they go on to care for.

Please note you may be required to visit other locations within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight or other local authority, and therefore need to have the ability to travel, as necessary. On an occasional basis, you may also need to work evenings and weekends, dependant on the needs of the service, with time off in lieu provided.
