An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at Hampshire County Council.
Are you looking for a challenging and diverse role working as part of a friendly and supportive team, with an opportunity to make a real difference?

The Role:

We are seeking experienced and passionate Social Workers to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub Team, based at Hampshire County Council's frontline contact centre in Fareham. Our MASH Team provides triage and multi-agency assessment of safeguarding concerns. Working closely with the Children Reception Team, we work to protect the most vulnerable children from harm, neglect and abuse.

What you'll do:

Using your professional knowledge and experience you'll make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions for families. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills you'll establish and maintain relationships to ensure services meet identified needs.

You'll be committed to facilitating effective multi-agency solutions to ensure positive and sustainable outcomes. Using best practice, you'll strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly however, you'll have a passion for supporting children and families to ensure that they thrive and flourish.

You must be highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in the MASH process. You will need to be creative, flexible and forward thinking in your approach, whilst constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children. Please note there is no face to face contact with families.

What we're looking for:

  • An in-depth understanding of child protection legislation, statutory guidance (e.g., Working Together to Safeguard Children), and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of thresholds for intervention and the ability to apply them consistently in a multi-agency context.
  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of partner agencies within a safeguarding framework.
  • Awareness of the impact of trauma, abuse, and neglect on child development and family functioning.
  • Familiarity with information sharing protocols and data protection legislation relevant to safeguarding.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in statutory children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Registration with Social Work England.

Why join us?

  • Annual leave starting from 25 days per annum and rising to 28 days based on experience and length of service.
  • MASH currently works to a hybrid model with a mixture of working from home and in the office as per service needs at the time.
  • A hybrid tablet device, so you can work more effectively and flexibly.
  • 5 personal development days per annum.
  • Ample progression opportunities.
  • Hampshire County Council is recognised nationally as one of the highest performing local authorities in the UK. A modern, forward-looking local authority, it offers a pleasant, supportive, and collaborative working environment.
