We have exciting opportunities for SaLTs to advance their clinical skills through a comprehensive development programme within an innovative, supportive, and outcome-focused school-based SaLT Service; with excellent supervision and CPD opportunities. Perhaps you are a Band 5/6 equivalent Therapist who has been working within education services either in the NHS, local authority or in the private sector and you are looking to progress and grow within our supportive team.

We are an expanding Education and Inclusion Therapy team which includes Occupational Therapists (OTs) specialising in Sensory Integration. We cover all mainstream and special schools and colleges across Hampshire County Council. Where applicable you will work alongside the other professionals in the team to provide integrated support for CYP. The therapy service is part of Hampshire’s local SEND offer, working alongside other teams such as Educational Psychology, Hampshire Inspector and Advisory Service, Primary Behaviour Service, Youth Justice Team and the SEN Service. We have a close working partnership with the NHS Therapy Service (SaLT, OT and Physio) and encourage collaborative working and cross-service development.

On joining the Education and Inclusion (E&I) Therapy Service, you will be provided with opportunities to work across the range of specialist areas within the team and all types of school and college across the county with access to our specialist clinical groups to support you to further develop your skills and understanding.

Current projects include:

  • Development of the Moodle including Toolkits and e-learning packages.
  • Developing shared pathways with our NHS colleagues.
  • Developing cross-setting communication policies and good practice standards.

Our aim is “To work with Children and Young People (CYP), and those around them, to understand and maximise their communication and interaction, to add to their capacity to achieve their best possible life”.
