The Role:

Get ready to join our progressive team, with fantastic career opportunities for Assistant Team Managers, in various locations across Hampshire. As we embark on an exciting transition to our new Family Help Model, this is the perfect time to become a key player in shaping the future of our services.

As an Assistant Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting Social Workers within the Children's Assessment Safeguarding Team, who work with children under child protection plans, child-in-need plans, and those involved in Public Law Outline/initial care proceedings. They also contribute to multi-agency practices by conducting pre-birth and parenting assessments and focus on contextualized safeguarding for adolescents. With a manageable caseload, you will implement the Hampshire Approach, ensuring the child's voice is heard and their views recorded.

Our transition to the Family Help model aligns with The Independent Review of Children's Social Care which reported in May 2022 and the government's response paper 'Stable Homes, Built on Love'. As part of a dedicated Family Help team, you'll actively participate in this transformative journey. We seek individuals driven by a genuine desire to contribute personally to enhancing our service. The role demands passion and commitment to improving outcomes and the lived experience of the children we serve.

To thrive in this role, you should possess proven experience in statutory social care practice, working collaboratively with children, young people, and their families. Upholding and ensuring high standards are practiced and maintained will be a key responsibility. A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England are prerequisites, you will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and be part of a positive change in children's social care, we invite you to apply. Join us as we shape a brighter future for the children of Hampshire.
