Transformation and Delivery Manager RBKC614495

Job Summary:

Salary range: £64,929 - £74,220 per annum
Work location: London
Hours per week: 36
Contract type: Permanent
Closing date: 22nd November 2024

About Us:

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put residents and communities at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. We are committed to embedding lessons from the Grenfell Tower tragedy and using these to drive the wider transformation of the council and its services. Against the backdrop of an increasingly challenging financial environment, it is more important than ever that we put people at the heart our decisions, and that we use the resources available in the most effective way.

The Role:

This is an exciting chance to shape the direction of a recently created function as part of the Corporate Strategy Team within the Chief Executive’s Directorate. This is a vital role that helps deliver the Council’s key priorities and drives meaningful change across the organisation. The role balances having corporate oversight of major change programmes across the Council with supporting the delivery of specific programmes of work. For example, reviewing how the Council optimises its assets to bring in more commercial income.

You will be expected to drive opportunities forward, directly line-managing a small team and working with numerous stakeholders to ensure objectives are being achieved. You will be involved in a range of initiatives and will be expected to show leadership across the organisation on how to deliver resident-focused change. The role will have some oversight of how to use digital tools to encourage innovation and efficiency, but this is not solely a digital transformation role.

The role sits within the Grenfell Partnerships function and is fundamentally about delivering better services for residents using the available resources and ensuring that the Council is supported to deliver change in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

We are looking for someone who is motivated by improving the outcomes of residents and can deliver projects at pace. You will have experience of delivering transformational service change and improvement that has resulted in improved service outcomes and efficiency. This could be within a service-specific context or as part of a corporate team. We are looking for someone who is confident analysing complex information and financial data to report to a range of audiences. You will be able to work both independently and to build strong partnerships across departments.

It is possible you will already have a background in the public sector, though it is more important that you have the ability to work in a political environment, and that you have strong motivating and influencing skills to encourage a team and stakeholders to work together to achieve the best results. You must have a proactive approach to challenges, a drive to deliver and confidence presenting to senior leaders. You will be managing a small team and working with multiple stakeholders across the organisation so good management, communication and collaboration skills are essential.

In turn, we can offer you a competitive benefits package that includes generous annual leave, staff discounts and an attractive contributory pension scheme. We will also provide you with a great work-life balance, enhanced by hybrid working.
