Are you ambitious, dynamic and ready for a rewarding challenge in music education?

Hampshire Music Service (HMS) is looking for enthusiastic, skilled and committed curriculum and whole class teachers to inspire young people through high quality music making. We welcome applicants with experience in both mainstream and SEND settings, who are passionate about enabling every child to succeed musically.

Our Teachers deliver engaging, inclusive learning opportunities for young people across the county, helping them to develop musical skills, confidence and a lifelong love of music.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

  • Whole class instrumental - New Forest/Romsey/Basingstoke
  • SEND - Countywide

At Hampshire Music Service, we teach across all instrumental families and at every level of ability. This includes supporting absolute beginners taking their first musical steps, right through to advanced learners preparing for conservatoire auditions or nurturing music as a lifelong passion.

No two days are the same in this varied and fulfilling role. Alongside classroom and instrumental teaching, there are exciting opportunities to contribute to projects that engage learners in new ways, work with ensembles, take part in world music initiatives, events and summer activities such as musical theatre productions. There are many ways to share your enthusiasm for music and make a meaningful impact.

Here is what one of our teachers says:
“After a long career as a secondary school leader, returning to music teaching with Hampshire Music Service has been incredibly rewarding. I have been made to feel very welcome and supported, with opportunities to teach peripatetic lessons, whole class programmes, conduct ensembles and progress into a Team Leader role. The service is well resourced, with strong leadership support and excellent professional development opportunities.”

If you are ready to inspire the next generation of musicians and develop your own practice within a supportive and ambitious service, we would love to hear from you.
