Work Location: Upton Grey in Winchester
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Permanent
Closing Date: 1 May 2024
Interview Date: 23 and 24 May 2024

The Role:

You’ll provide leadership support to our friendly and supportive care team in our long stay CQC registered residential home for adults with learning disabilities. Along with another Senior Residential Service Officer, you’ll support the Registered Manager to ensure we deliver a high-quality service that meets CQC and Care standards in line with our own internal policies and practices.

We work with some amazing people, each with their own individual physical, mental, social and emotional needs.  You’ll enjoy this diversity and use your person-centred approach to focus on their strengths, promoting their independence and tailoring your support to the individual.  This will include helping people communicate, take part in daily living tasks or social activities, as well as providing support with personal care, taking medication, eating and drinking.

Whether you’re looking to expand your existing leadership skills, or taking a first step on your career pathway in a management role, this is a fantastic opportunity to stretch yourself in a supportive environment.

Take a look at our Candidate Pack for more information about the role, team and our values.  The section ‘About you’ explains what specific knowledge, skills and experience we want you to tell us about.  Make sure you explain how you meet these requirements and demonstrate our values, in your application.

You’ll have experience within a social care setting, having the confidence and skill set to lead a team, deputising for the Manager as needed.  A strong team player,  you’ll enjoy the opportunity to mentor others, enabling them to deliver the highest standards of care, in line with the latest CQC requirements and those of Hampshire County Council Care and Support. You’ll also use your excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in partnership with management colleagues at Upton Grey and our residential home Homewood in Andover.  Most importantly you’ll role-model our core values to colleagues, showing patience, empathy and compassion, empowering people to be independent and maximise their wellbeing.

In return, we can offer you a comprehensive induction programme, so that you’ll have all the training you need to do a first class job.  We’re committed to your personal development and can support you to undertake an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management. We also offer an extensive Benefits Package.

As this is a 24/7 service, you’ll be required to work a shift pattern to respond to the demands of the service. Your work pattern will include working weekends, Bank Holidays and a variety of shifts including early, late and sleep-in shifts.

Travel Requirements:

You will be required to drive a Council vehicle and must hold a current full drivers’ licence.
