Hours per week: 37 (part-time hours could be considered from a minimum of 30 hours per week)

Join our well-established and dynamic Public Health Team as a Senior Public Health Practitioner for Older Adults and take the next step in your public health career. You’ll play a key role in addressing health inequalities and preventing ill-health across our communities, helping to improve outcomes for some of our most vulnerable populations.

 

As part of our Hampshire Public Health Team, we enjoy the challenge of working innovatively and collaboratively, continuously improving our approach to public health initiatives and driving meaningful change through to delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful, forward-thinking and expanding projects that support older adults to live longer in better health, alongside improving the health and wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and deliver innovative and expanding public health projects, with a particular focus on supporting older adults to live longer, healthier lives.
  • Support the health and wellbeing needs of adults with learning disabilities through tailored, evidence-based approaches.
  • Build strong, effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across multi-agency settings.
  • Use research, data and public health intelligence to gather, interpret and present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement creative, transformative ways of working.
  • Contribute to reducing health inequalities through targeted and impactful interventions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience working in a public health role.
  • Educated to Master’s degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of public health concepts and your ability to use evidence-based research methods and practice.
  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
  • Experience of partnership working across multi-agency settings, with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • A creative, forward-thinking mindset with the ability to drive innovation and change.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage a variety of audiences.

Travel Requirements:

You may be required to visit other locations within Hampshire, and therefore need to have the ability to travel, as necessary.
