The Role:
Hampshire Pension Services (HPS) administers pensions for the Hampshire Pension Fund, a Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). We are also the pension administrator for the following schemes:
- West Sussex County Council LGPS
- London Borough Of Hillingdon LGPS
- City Of Westminster LGPS
- Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary
- Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service
- West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service
We administer pensions for approximately 300,000 members across all the schemes, with around 700 employers using the scheme. Pension Services is deeply focused on excellent customer service, which is why we currently hold the Customer Service Excellence Award.
Hampshire Pensions Services (HPS) is a large team with over 100 team members. We are broken down into smaller specialist teams to provide service to our members. Each team specialises in a particular area: Member Services; Pensions Customer Support Team (PCST); Employer Services; Data, Systems and Partnership Support (DSPS); Finance; and Communications, Projects, and Development (CPD). This specific vacancy is within our Member Services Team. No pensions experience is needed as we offer full support and training from day one.
This role offers flexible working opportunities and hybrid working with office attendance every Tuesday.
What you’ll do:
You will be part of Member Services Team and you will be responsible for the administration of people’s pensions on a day-to-day basis. The main processes are:
- Setting up records for new scheme members
- Processing leaver information for refunds and frozen benefits
- Organising transfers between different funds and schemes
- Processing around 150 retirements monthly
- Running payrolls for retired members
- Responding to technical queries from members
What we’re looking for:
- Have you got 5 x GCSEs of a Grade C or 4 and above (must include Maths and English)?
- Are you enthusiastic and positive?
- Are you a strong communicator (written and verbal) who can build good working relationships with customers and peers?
- Do you have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines?
- Do you have good attention to detail?
- Can you offer excellent Customer Service, and do you enjoy helping people?
- Are you willing to learn and try new things?
- Do you have strong IT skills?
