Are you an ambitious and forward thinking Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) interested in joining one of the top performing local authorities to build your career in social work? Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services are undergoing unprecedented growth and are recruiting Newly Qualified Social Workers to join our Graduate Entry Training Scheme (GETS.) Our pioneering Scheme is an entirely new way of supporting our social workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and will ensure that you build the very best foundations in skills and confidence to equip you for the challenges of front line social work.  


You will join a cohort of other Newly Qualified Social Workers and as a group you will undertake an intensive four week induction period of high quality training and support. Following this you will join one of our district based teams for a five month secondment, allowing you time to develop your skills portfolio. You will also have further development days and shadowing opportunities during this time where you continue to learn together and support each other as a cohort of Graduate Trainees.  For the final six months you will be appointed into your substantive post to complete your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE.) On successful completion of your ASYE, you will be offered ongoing support for a further year which will enable you to consolidate your learning as you become a more experienced social worker.

Role Requirements:

Please note you must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role. Generally this means that you will require a full driving licence and access to a car, but reasonable adjustments to this requirement will be considered to cater for a declared disability.  
If you hold a provisional licence but have not yet passed your test you are welcome to apply and will be interviewed if shortlisted.  If successful at interview you will be offered a conditional place on the GETs with a start date delayed for a maximum of 6 months to allow you to take and pass your driving test.
