As a Highway Technician, you will be assisting engineers in delivering a large variety of highway schemes throughout Hampshire, enabling the efficient running and delivery of the planned maintenance programmes.

 

Apprenticeship Details and Our Values:

As already mentioned, this position provides an opportunity for you to attend training and complete a Level 3 Civil Engineer Technician apprenticeship, to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours as set out in the apprenticeship standard.

What you’ll do:

You will assist the design teams with the delivery of the annual planned maintenance programme of works (through inspection, design solution and preparation, site monitoring and stakeholder/contractor liaison). To work closely with all aspects of Planned Maintenance.

What we’re looking for:

Though previous highways maintenance experience is not essential, having the flexibility and the ability to manage a workload with minimum supervision are key requirements. An interest and appreciation of highway engineering and the management/maintenance of a large road network. In addition, good customer care and communication skills are essential.

 

You will have the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role and, as required, be able to work out of hours on occasions if required. You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
