The Role:

Join Hampshire County Council’s innovative IT team and play a key role in shaping the future of digital services. In this exciting position, you’ll work within a dynamic development and support team delivering Mendix and Power App solutions, as well as a variety of information development projects that introduce new technologies across the organisation.
 
With a strong focus on the Mendix platform—an industry-leading, low-code solution for building scalable, enterprise-grade applications—you’ll contribute to the full development lifecycle, from idea to deployment. You’ll help drive the continuous improvement of applications by troubleshooting issues, testing enhancements, and collaborating closely with fellow developers and the platform lead.
 
You’ll also support project delivery, working alongside testing teams to resolve bugs, ensure smooth go-lives, and get involved in wider technologies where needed. What you’ll do:

Step into a Mendix Developer role where you’ll help deliver innovative digital solutions using our low-code platform. You’ll design, build, and support applications in an Agile DevOps environment, taking ownership of development tasks from analysis through to implementation. Alongside enhancing and maintaining existing services, you’ll manage third-line support, contribute to platform upgrades, and drive continuous improvement within an ITIL-aligned framework—ensuring our applications consistently meet business needs.

We’re looking for a proactive and driven professional with experience supporting IT applications and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment. You’ll bring a solid understanding of standard desktop and server applications, along with a genuine enthusiasm for expanding your expertise across new and emerging systems. As a self-starter with strong analytical thinking, you’ll be confident taking initiative, managing workloads, and working within a structured development team to translate business requirements into effective solutions.


You’ll thrive on learning—quickly absorbing new information, adapting to evolving technologies, and tackling challenges head-on with determination and curiosity. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, you’ll be able to collaborate effectively and explain complex ideas clearly.
