An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and competent Administrative Officer to join Education Financial Services (EFS) at Hampshire County Council.
EFS is a highly successful team providing a range of financial services to schools throughout Hampshire and Oxfordshire. The Role:
In this role, you’ll have an impact by being part of a service that supports schools to manage their finances and help to deliver better outcomes for children and young people across Hampshire. You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive team that values innovation, professional growth and continuous improvement.
What you’ll do:
You'll perform a range of administrative tasks including:
• Communicating confidently with customers and staff using a range of skills
• Carrying out transactional finance and purchasing functions
• Arranging and facilitating courses in relation to our comprehensive training programme
• Processing claims on behalf of the School Staff Absence Scheme
• Undertaking routine budget monitoring, procurement and charging for the service
• Maintaining high quality documents within a file management system
• Arranging meetings on behalf of the management team
• Supporting a range of EFS service activities and acting as point of contact for team members
What we’re looking for:
You’ll need a positive and flexible approach to teamwork. This is a busy and varied role which involves overseeing multiple workstreams, so it's important that you can manage your own workload, use your initiative and effectively prioritise conflicting demands.
Educated to GCSE level A - C (or equivalent) in Maths and English with a formal qualification beyond GCSE (or equivalent), you’ll be competent in specialist functions relevant to business administration.
You’ll also have excellent IT skills and experience of using a wide range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365, together with strong communication and customer service skills.
Previous administrative experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
