The Role:
Hampshire Scientific Service is a Public Analyst and Official Food and Feed Control Laboratory which provides ISO 17025 accredited testing services and consultancy to Hampshire County Council departments and other Local Authorities.
Based in our laboratory in Southsea, your main role will be to support Hampshire Scientific Service Responsible Manager for Facilities with day-to-day tasks such as:
• Water flushing programmes
• Fire alarm testing
• Escorting building contractors
• Stock control of laboratory chemicals and consumables
You will be required to support the cleaner with laboratory deep cleaning tasks, providing cover in their absence to complete duties including daily cleaning of communal spaces and general cleaning of the building.
Working with the Scientific teams you will be expected to carry out regular sample disposal; maintain, service, clean simple lab equipment; take and collect samples; general laboratory and housekeeping tasks.
Full training will be provided, whilst there may be the opportunity to be involved in some laboratory refurbishment.
Good communication and organisational skills are also essential to the role alongside an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
