The Role:

Do you enjoy working as part of a busy team, meeting and helping people of all ages and providing excellent customer service?

Hampshire’s Library Service needs enthusiastic Library Team Assistants to join our busy and flexible teams. You’ll be providing an excellent customer experience to everyone who visits our libraries and encouraging more people to read a range of authors and book titles, download our apps for eMagazines and eBooks, take part in special promotions for adults and children, sign up for courses and events and using our IT facilities.

Your role will be to provide a welcoming environment for all, promoting our services, planning and delivering activities for children, assisting with the management of stock as well as carrying out a wide range of administrative duties.

You’ll have a good general education combined with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a good standard of IT skills (ideally with some qualifications and experience) plus the ability to use your own initiative when required. You may be required to travel between a small ‘cluster’ of libraries, so you'll need to fulfil specific travel requirements which will be outlined at interview.

A full induction and training programme will be provided.
