This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and talented person to join our team in the Hampshire Futures service to support a project that will support young people who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disabilities (SEND), in making informed decisions about their future education, training, and employment pathways.
The Role:
A significant part of this role will involve working with Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) in schools and colleges to develop a personalised process (Vocational Profiling) used to help them identify their skills, interests, strengths, and aspirations in relation to future education, training, or employment.
What you’ll do:
You will be working collaboratively with schools, colleges, training providers, employers, parents/carers and support services to ensure young people have access to accurate information and meaningful experiences that enhance their career readiness and participation.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of the service by implementing procedures that provide continuous improvement.
You will also liaise with other Hampshire County Council teams as appropriate to meet service level targets and agreements and maintain accurate and confidential records of guidance sessions, outcomes, and follow-up actions in line with data protection and safeguarding policies.
What we’re looking for:
This position would be particularly well-suited to someone with experience working in educational settings, such as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential and is eager to make a meaningful impact on their future pathways.
If you have the experience of working in schools, colleges or alternative provision as a Teaching Assistant, LSA or SENCO support, then this role would be right for you.
Why join us?
- Comprehensive induction programme with all necessary training.
- Great satisfaction from supporting young people with SEN and SEND
- Commitment to personal development
