Work Location: Fleming House, Eastleigh
Hours per week: 30
Contract Type: Permanent
Closing Date: 30 June 2022

The Role:

Fleming House is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the everyday running of the Home.

Working as part of a supportive and professional team, you'll provide essential cleaning and cooking services for the home. Your duties will include washing up, cleaning and organising food storage. You will be expected to support the cook with light cooking duties, preparation of food, sandwiches, vegetables and desserts.

You'll need to be able to prioritise your workload within time constraints and work on your own initiative when appropriate, as well as have a commitment to your own training and development. Experience of large scale catering is desirable, but not essential, as in-house training is provided.

This role will require you to work some evenings and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Our service users are at the heart of everything we do so you'll need to be a likeminded individual with empathy and an understanding of the needs of older people, as you’ll interact with our residents and play a key role in providing the caring and homely environment for which we strive.

Hampshire County Council cares for those who care, which is why we are committed to your personal development, enhancing your skills within a supportive and warm environment. We can offer you excellent induction training which includes Dementia Care, Safeguarding, Infection Control and First Aid. Additionally, you will benefit from ongoing training to ensure care practices are current and up to date. This is offered alongside a generous benefits package.

Full COVID-19 vaccination status is no longer required as a condition of employment, but being fully vaccinated is strongly encouraged.
