Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of people with Mental Health difficulties? Then we are the right service for you!

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and hardworking Social Workers/AMHPs to complement our teams across Hampshire. What we can offer you is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working in a Social Care Mental Health Team within our Adults' Health and Care department. You will be joining a supportive, friendly, caring service where you will be valued and work as part of team. You will receive regular supervision, have the support of your Team Manager and colleagues and have plentiful opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge. Alongside this we prioritise regular and exclusive Continuous Professional Development opportunities; Hampshire County supports and facilitates all Qualified Social Workers within Mental Health to undertake their AMHP training.

In this role you will support people who are experiencing difficulties with their Mental Health or substance misuse, to gain greater independence to meet their assessed outcomes, in accordance with the Care Act 2014. You will have a sound understanding of the application of a strengths-based approach to practice, whilst being person centred, promoting safe and effective social care services.

You will have a passion for delivering positive outcomes in addition to an ability to recognise problems, identify solutions and negotiate situations. You will also need to have proficient IT and written skills. We work with a variety of different professions to achieve a holistic approach to assisting clients with their wellbeing.

As a qualified Social Worker/AMHP, registered with Social Work England, you will need strong interpersonal and organisational skills.  You will need to travel independently across the county to meet with individuals and carers to assess needs, formulate outcomes to provide meaningful choice and promote wellbeing.  You must be able to work autonomously, prioritise your work and respond flexibly to competing demands.

An excellent working knowledge of legislation and current policies is required.  Social Workers in the team are required to undertake various duties to include assessments under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, reviews of funded care and safeguarding work.

As there will be a need to travel, the successful candidates will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the role. If you have a solid understanding of adult social care and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service, we would love to hear from you. In return for your dedication to our service users, we offer a commitment to your continued development and wellbeing, alongside a competitive benefits package.

Please note the North of the County attracts a specific retention bonus equivalent to £750 on appointment and a further £750 on the successful applicant’s sixth month anniversary in post.

Values Based Recruitment:

We recruit for attitudes and values in Adults’ Health and Care. We invite you to evidence how you demonstrate the 4 core values we hold in your application.

The 4 core values are:

  • Person Centred: Has a person centred and strengths-based approach that empowers service users and carers to live independent lives.
  • Resilience: Successfully manages change and develops and maintains their wellbeing and resilience.
