The Role:

Calshot Activities Centre is a unique outdoor education facility and visitor attraction in the New Forest National Park. Located on a shingle spit at the mouth of Southampton Water, the site has a long and diverse heritage, including a Tudor Castle and Grade one and two listed buildings.  

 

This is a great opportunity to join the excellent and established facilities team that manage the buildings, grounds, and equipment of Calshot Activities Centre.  


This team underpins the customer experience at Calshot and enables our 100,000+ visitors a year to enjoy our whole site, from the café through to the campsite.

What you’ll do:

You will deliver effective, safe, clean and secure facilities management maintenance services for Calshot Activities Centre - completing tasks such as inspecting activity equipment, grounds maintenance and basic repair jobs. 

 

The role encompasses both statutory and equipment checks as well as the opportunity to complete projects and take on ownership of different areas.

 

There are opportunities to contribute to development of innovative ways to increase productivity of the team and to share ideas about future projects.

What we’re looking for:

You will have experience in building maintenance and be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.

 

The position requires both independent working, where you can use your own initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a small team.

 

Strong communication skills, organisation, and adaptability are essential to succeed in this role.

This role is part of the wider Hampshire Outdoor Centre team, based at Calshot Activities Centre and as such you will be eligible for staff discounts across all activities. We offer year round on site parking and personal development and training opportunities.
