The Role:

As part of Hampshire County Council’s Countryside Service, Manor Farm is a busy family-orientated visitor attraction set within a beautiful heritage setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join our animal team as a full time Assistant Farm Ranger


The Assistant Farm Ranger will be responsible for ensuring the health and welfare of every animal on site. This includes daily health checks, monitoring of behaviour, creating engaging and enriching environments for the animals, assisting with births, implementing routine procedures and treatments, treating medical conditions and injuries, and working alongside the farm team to deliver fun and engaging activities daily for our visitors. The Assistant Farm Ranger team are responsible for implementing onsite procedures such as COSHH, risk assessments and herd health plans

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer facing role and be able to think of new and exciting ways to engage animals with our visitors. You will need a ‘can do’ attitude with an outgoing personality and have good attention to detail, whilst having a natural curiosity to identify ways to make things better, an ability to learn new skills and to know where to find information when needed. Holding an animal care or agriculture qualification is desirable, however, applications from people with relevant experience, an excellent work ethic and compassion for animals would equally be considered. This exciting position is a key part of the Manor Farm team, and you will help shape our future for generations to come.
