The Role:
Join the School Library Service (SLS) as a School Library Service Assistant. In this varied role, you’ll provide administrative and customer support, helping schools access high-quality resources and services that support the curriculum and pupils’ development.
You’ll work closely with colleagues and customers to manage resources, coordinate visits and carry out deliveries, maintain records and promote our services, while also building strong relationships with schools. This is a hands-on role combining administration, customer service and stock management, giving you the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of the service.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver excellent customer service by responding to enquiries and bookings face-to-face, over the phone and by email.
- Build strong relationships with schools through regular communication, visits and by promoting the full range of SLS services.
- Manage and maintain library stock, including selecting, preparing, delivering and organising resources both in the centre and in schools.
- Carry out a range of administrative tasks, including record-keeping, ordering, and booking visits to schools.

- A genuine interest in children’s literature and education.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Highly organised and comfortable using Office 365 applications.

Travel Requirements:
