Salary Range: £27,780 - £30,564 pro-rata, per annum, plus market supplement of £250 per annum (subject to conditions)
Work Location: Basingstoke Registration Office, Basingstoke
Hours per week: 37 and 22.2
Contract Type: Permanent (37 hours) and Temporary (22.2 hours for 12 months)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Registration Officers to join The Registration Service at Hampshire County Council. We are recruiting for the following positions; 1 x permanent full time and 1 x temporary (12 months) part time.

Hampshire Registration Service is an innovative and forward-thinking organisation, currently delivering in excess of 10,000 birth registrations, 10,750 death registrations, 11,900 notices of marriage / civil partnership (CP) and 6,000 ceremonies each year. 

The Role:

The day-to-day work will require you to register Births, Deaths and take Notices of Marriage / Civil Partnership (CP), register Marriage and CP ceremonies, Citizenship ceremonies and other non-statutory ceremonies.   

What you’ll do:

You will be committed to delivering a high quality, customer focused, frontline service, with good communication skills and empathy. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is paramount in the day-to-day operation of your role. You will have the ability to work well as a member of a small team and demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity as this relates to the Registration Service.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound IT skills and able to accurately record information
